Kellyccz
I will be cruising over Thanksgiving this year on the Carnival Miracle (Nov. 21-28, 2004) and we will be going down 2 or 3 days early for a pre-cruise stay. I am competely unfamiliar with Tampa and would love some recommendations on places to stay in a good area with plenty to do during our stay and preferably real close to a beach, even if it is not right in Tampa (i.e. Clearwater Beach). Thanks for any advice/suggestions.
Dan
We stayed at the Adams Mark in Clearwater Beach about 10 years ago. Nice hotel right on the beach, and right in the middle of a bunch of stuff to do. There are a ton of nice hotels along that stretch, and being before Thansgiving, it's probably pretty reasonable. If you are planning on a few days, I wouldn't bother picking a place right in Tampa or close to the pier. I imagine most of the beach area hotels have free or cheap shuttles to the airport and pier
Kellyccz
Thanks Dan. I have stayed at an Adams Mark hotel once before and it was very nice. That is especially nice that it is on the beach. Being close to the pier is not one of our huge priorities, being that we will be there 2-3 days ahead of time. We can all chip in on the cab/shuttle fare to the port if necessary on the day of sailing. We just want to make sure there are things to do (although I will most likely spend most of my days on the beach!). Thanks for your help!
