gogetter
Hello, Could be hard...or easy...depending how flexible the most can be...... It would be hard for anyone with kids in school......rates seem to be higher during schools out times.....isn't it? Any ideas, suggestions or comments? 2 of the best times we have enjoyed cruising are......beginning of May or Octber. Seems like the seas are calmer then. We have always been lucky to have good weather. So i will start with May or October of 2005. With over a year to plan it we could change dates and pay a higher price. I have to save real good for this, so the further out i know the better. Personally i would pick Port Canaveral....any line...or Ft Lauderdale or Miami. I guess i could drive to New Orleans if i had to. Not Texas or California...lol.... Any length and any line would be ok.....I am sure we all would want a decent price....2K or less for a 7 nighter sound good? for 2 of course.... We could possibly let someone stay for a night or 2 either way.....if coming from out of town. We met a couple in St Thomas from another ship from Norway. They ended up staying with us for a few days and it was nice. Anyways..any ideas thoughts or comments???????? Thanks....
DaCruzNut
GREAT IDEA! I think you've chosen two good months.... In fact, late-May/early June and October are two of my favorite times to cruise. This is a very slow season for the cruise lines and you cane get some really great deals! My other favorite time is 2-3 weeks before Christmas. The ships are empty! Everyone is recuperating from Thanksgiving and preparing for X-mas & new Year's. Part of the reason i like early May or October.....it is nice weather wise with the humidity being low...usually...as compared to the middle of the summer. DaCruzNut
Gogetter: I agree with the Western Caribbean; it's the more "fun" itinerary. Before we pick a line/ship, check with Lori Cunningham, at Skyscaper Tours. She has been doing my booking for the last 6-7 cruises... Let her know I told you to contact her. Lori is really "on the ball," and a favorite on another major cruise board, which shall remain n@meless  I have found that she gets the best fares, and then checks with the cruise lines often, even after you've booked, and if the fare drops she calls and gets you a refund, or onboard credit. Also, have her check Celebrity. They are very good with "group cruises." In all honesty, Royal Caribbean is one of my least favorites. I prefer (in my 'favorite' order) Celebrity, Carnival, Princess, & NCL (they're running some GREAT deals!). Royal Caribbean keeps cutting corners, and their food has really suffered. Funny, since they own Celebrity, which IMHO has the best food. I'm not crazy about Costa and HAL. You can reach Lori at 1-888-278-9648, or at www.skyscrapertours.com

sailinglisa
My vote would be for a 7 day Western Caribbean itinerary on either Celebrity or Princess! And if it is October 2005 - I can handle that! May is a little too early for me with work.
