Cruising in September

We've cruised near two hurricanes -- one in the Caribbean in early November, and one off of Nova Scotia in October. Note that I said near, not in. In both cases, our itinerary was altered slightly. And in both cases, it was fun to feel how the ship handled the waves. Wheeeeeee!

Nah, it really wasn't all that bad. Like Keith and Rita said, I'd be more concerned about getting to the ship. I'd definitely book a flight for the day before the cruise, rather than the day of the cruise. And buy insurance.

Look at it this way... a ship is a moving resort. If you were to plan a trip to a specific island for a week, and a storm hit that island, you'd be out of luck. At least on a ship, the Captain will steer clear and you will still have a fun vacation.

Sorry we can't join you guys in Sept. We are looking at another New Years cruise--out of Port Canaveral. Only problem is, it is twice the price of our Horizon cruise! We will probably end up booking it and driving down a few days early to spend some time with Rita's son--who lives in Orlando.

Also, Maria--e-mail us your cruise photos--we want to see them!
