I think I would go with Carnival and a seven day cruise. As everyone has said their Camp Carnival is a wonderful program that the kids will enjoy. Disney will cost you more.

I remember sharing a Jitney back to the pier in St. Thomas with a young couple from the Boston area who were aboard a Disney ship and were very disappointed about the costs for everything. They had three kids with them and felt they were being "eaten alive." This couple had been cruising on other cruise lines so they did have a basis for comparison.

I say seven day, because you will be barely unpacked and it will be time to leave on a shorter one. Have no fear, you all will enjoy it!

Hi Anne60!

Welcome aboard! I have to agree with the others, and I think Carnival or Disney would probably be the best for kids, but one thing did cross my mind. You mentioned that you liked good food and a quiet place, also. You might enjoy a Celebrity cruise. They usually have an older crowd, but since you are taking it in the summer, there will probably be a younger crowd and other kids. I'm not sure what activities they have for the kids, but they should have something arranged for the summer cruises.

I also agree that you should take a 7-day instead of a 4-day. Four days is just not enough!
