Jason
We all have a favorite beach somewhere....some prefer the quiet, secluded ones, while other people love the busy, crowded beaches. Some are more scenic than others, while others just make the people more comfortable. So, what's your favorite beach? It can be anywhere...in the U.S., in the caribbean, etc.
DaCruzNut
(For reasons which will soon become apparent, I cannot post a photogragh, or gif, to accompany this subject, as I usually try to do...... ) Jason- My favorite beach is South Beach (Miami Beach), from Fifth Street south to South Point. It's a wide, soft-sand, beach, lined with palm trees and other tropical foliage. The beautiful blue-green sea ahead of you and the multi-colored Art Deco buildings to your rear. A bluer-than-blue sky, with a few puffy, white, clouds, so low in the sky that you feel like you could reach up and almost touch them. A bright, hot, sun and a light, cooling, breeze..... Best of all, it's only a short, half-hour, drive from my home. The problem is, avery time I go to SoBe, I miss the beautiful trees, and the rainbow buildings, and the blue sky, and the puffy clouds. You see, SoBe, south of Fifth, is a topless beach. This time of year, it is flooded with Eurpoean tourists, who confuse the words "topless" and "nude;" gorgeous models who come to get a 'real' tan; the "Beautiful People" who come to the "in" SoBe; and a host of local young beauites.... Ahhhhhhhh........SoBe!!!!!!

GottaCruz
Keith and Rita, Between your pics and everything you've said about your timeshare, it really sounds interesting to me. Are there hotels there, beside the timeshare? Do you know how much of a drive it would be from the Ft. Lauderdale area? This photo makes me just want to work my way down to one of those lounge chairs. It sounds like the ideal vacation place , especially since we could drive there. PEB
You deffinately got me thinking on this question. Ultimately I came down to the conclusion that I am not like the majority on the cruise boards. I do not really care for any beach. I have never spent a lot of time on any beach. I actually prefer to be back in the woods, even on a cruise I will take tours that take me back into rain forests or on an ecological river tour and never set foot on a beach. I have been around beaches many times but never really enjoyed a beach. I guess there always has to be one odd ball in the bunch.
KeithnRita
Cheryl--There is a lot of small motels that share the beach access with Sea Club V. Also, larger hotels are on the Key, as well. Not sure how long of drive from Fort Lauderdale--it is about 2 hours from Orlando. map: http://www.seaclubv.com/scv_map.asp
GottaCruz
Keith and Rita, I used the link you posted and found out that it's 3 and a half hours from home. I guess that's doable but I am really interested in sometthing a bit closer on the west coast. You've put me into the mood to do a little research for the future. That map was great . I'm going to check out the ciites from it that are south of Siesta Key. Thanks , Keith and Rita.
Guest
Hi!!!-----Some of the beaches in Jamaica are great because you find your own "paradise spot" and not be bothered for hours--- the same for Aruba and the gorgeous water and the berber patterned sand. But what stands out in my mind the most is Elbow Beach, Bermuda----must be that "pink sand")-------Alice Underground==Enchantment of the Seas---1/
dot73
Cayo Coco in Cuba. You can walk for miles on super soft sand with no one bothering you or trying to sell you something. No noise from jet skis or other motorized boatd. No garbage anywhere. The water is amazing. Great beach for women walking alone -- totally safe. Cuban people are the most friendly and pleasant people in the Caribbean.
