shiftman1956
Has anyone heard that Johnny Rockets will now charge $3.95 a person surcharge on RCCL? That is so wrong!!! Maybe I need to stick with Carnival!!!
Jason
Times are tough...guess they are looking for more money....RCCL used to charge passengers for milk shakes and other specialty drinks in the Johnny Rockets diner, if I remember correctly. When enough passengers complained, the charge was lifted. How long ago did RCCL start this again?
jbond
It's on two ships for two weeks to evaluate the effect. The ships are Navigator and Mariner. Only Voyager class ships have Johnny Rockets restaurants. The Solarium Cafe on all RCI ships will still be serving hamburgers, fries and hot dogs. RCI is doing it because of the crowds that jam the restaurant continuously. If you are a past RCI cruiser you will receive a coupon to get a "free" meal. DaCruzNut
I absolutely refuse to increase their onboard revenue to get a hamburger! It's heresy!!! When I was on the Grand Princess, they had an ice cream bar, which charged for cones, cups, etc; Ice cream was served in the dining room, free, for lunch and dinner. I certainly had my fill, without the extra charges.
sailinglisa
There are two ways to voice your displeasure....first write or email RCCL and tell them you are opposed to this charge (and maybe if they improved the food in their other no-charge dining venues, there might not be such a rush for JR's...) or second REFUSE to patronize the place! Either way, RCCL will get the message. RCCL used to charge for JR's, the rock climbing wall, etc........and they stopped charging when no on USED the features. BridaBunny
I would sooner give up the higher price frou -frou drinks. those are a waste of my money, so to each his/her own.
sailinglisa
BTW - Carnival does nickel and dime you to death - just in other areas!
