What is your favorite port?

I have been hanging around this board for a few weeks now. Mostly I have cruised out of Miami, but now am looking to venture out of other ports. What is your favorite port and why? :cool:

My favorite port is Maui. It is just the most beautiful place I've ever seen. The Hawaiian islands are so gorgeous and romantic, and the people are friendly. It's a great place to forget about your troubles and be in another world for awhile.

Fort Lauderdale (for easy access from both hotels and airport) and Vancouver (sheer beauty - Canada Place, Lion's Gate Bridge, etc.)

We liked Canada Place in Vancouver, as well. Also liked Galveston Island, Our favorite Florida port now is Tampa, but actually, any cruise embarkation port will do. Our least favorite is San Pedro (Los Angeles).

Guess I wasn't paying attention on this one. My favorite port to cruise out of is probably Ft. Lauderdale...but I liked Miami, too. I actually have only cruised out of Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, and San Pedro.

Out of the ports that we have used the best has been Vancouver for the beauty and then Fort Lauderdale for the convenience. I did not like Acapulco, people were chasing after us everywhere we went.

I guess if we're naming ports to cruise out of, I'll have to go with Ft. Lauderdale, too. If we're talking ports to visit, my favorite is Tortola!

If you mean, favorite port to start a cruise, Nice wins hands down. It's lovely being under the Mediterranean sun. Also, the port is small, suitable only for small ships such as the Wind Surf, and that adds to the charm.

Closer to home, New York is our favorite port in most ways, least favorite in a few ways. It's wonderful starting a cruise 10 miles from home, it's great being next to the Intrepid, and nothing beats sailing down the Hudson and past the Statue of Liberty. Unfortunately, all of those good things disappear upon disembarkation: 3 trips, three difficult times getting off the ship, getting luggage, and connecting with transportation.
