I have always been a huge fan of the BBQ rib dinner, usually served only once a week on every cruise. The BBQ ribs have always been delicious on the Carnival cruises we have been on....

However on our last cruise this past December aboard the Imagination, the ribs were amaaaaazzzing! And I mean aammmmazzzzzzinng! I must have gone through 2-3 full racks of ribs by the time I was done eating. They were served with steak fries, corn, carrots, and the ribs themselves had the most delicious BBQ sauce EVER!!

So CruiseCrazies...What's your favorite onboard meal?

Although not, technically, a "meal," my favorite is the "Chocoholic Buffet," aboard the NCL ships.

Although scaled down over the past few years, it remains mind-boggling!

Chocolate of every description; candy, cakes, ice cream, chocolate covered fruit, and on-and-no-and-on...

NCL used to seve the Chocoholic Buffet as an afternoon buffet, during the cruise, and it was put out at 4:00pm, in addition to the midnight buffets held every evening of the cruise. After Star Cruises took over, they moved it to midnight.

When I cruise Princess I look forward to the Pheasant. When I cruise Carnival I look forward to Lamb. When I use to cruise American Hawaii I looked forward to their crab salad.

As far as when I cruised NCL I found nothing exceptional that would make me look forward to in the future. As far as Celebrity there was nothing that even closely impressed me. The worst meals I ever had were on Celebrity.

Great question and one which is rather difficult to answer. For example a filet mignon on Carnival may not be quite the same on Princess. Personally I'm more of a meat and potatoes person-fancy foods don't mean much. I do enjoy most soups and desserts but main dishes I can live with 'em or without 'em!! I've always said that the simplist meals can be the best such as roast beef ,roast potatoes, peas and Yorkshire pudding with gravy. Trouble is the chefs tend to "doll" meals up and you end up with something that resembles what you want but is not IT!!!.

Regards,

James.
