Alaska cruise

What ports are you visiting? Whittier is a new cruise port, at least to me. What cruise line are you sailing?

James - Princess has replaced Seward with Whittier this year on their 7 day Voyage of the Glaciers cruises (Coral/Island/Sun/Dawn Princess itineraries). It is about an hour closer to Anchorage than Seward. I am doing the July 26 Whittier to Vancouver run on the Dawn Princess.

Thanks Lisa, Whittier looks a little more picturesque than Seward and sailing through the Prince William Sound should be pretty impressive.

Do they have a train connection or just a coach?

From what I have heard there is a train transfer, but I would check with your TA or Princess - I am doing the coach transfer...as I plan on being in Anchorage a couple of days pre crusie and one day I am taking the Alaska Railroad to either Seward or Girdwood/Spencer Glacier and doing a day excursion through them. That will fill my need for an Alaska Railroad trip! :smiley:
