Tamara
I'm cruising with my mother-in-law to Alaska in May on HAL. She has never travelled anywhere and leads a pretty casual life. She was all worried about what to wear on formal night, until she remembered that she has her MOTHER OF THE BRIDE DRESS FROM TWENTY FIVE YEARS AGO. What a great opportunity to wear those clothes that you saved in plastic all those years. She's lucky, her weight has remained the same. Mine has not. I could not imagine squeezing myself into the bridesmaid dress that I wore twenty five years ago; robin's egg blue with fluffy skirt and spaghetti straps in size 8 which would burst under the strain these days. Not that I would wear such a thing now even if I could fit into it!
hazelson
Now I'm really sad - let's see 25 years ago I was 28 - and could actually wear a bikini - heavy sigh - TTFN Jennifer
Shari2
It would be quite funny if I tried on anything I wore 25 years ago. I am definitely not the same size. lol
GottaCruz
I'm hysterical just thinking of how little of me I could actually get into anthing I wore 25 years ago. That was 2 years before I got married and was going to Jack La Lanne every day. LOL . :cheesy: Tamara, It's great that your MIL is still the same size. I give her a lot of credit for that. After all those years under plastic, will the dress be the same color it originally was?
Tamara
I don't know what shape or colour the dress is in after so many years...maybe she should throw out the dress and just wear the plastic !!
iriscruiser
I agree with rveryone. 25 years ago was 5 years before I got married and I went to the Kelly Lyn health spas every other day. Also was pre-childern. LOL  Tamara if she just wore the plastic that would certainly be an eye catcher.
Lisa63
Last year, we had four formal nights -- so I brought along two old bridesmaid dresses rather than buy new formal wear. One was only a year old, and was a little big because I had lost some weight since then. But the other was about ten years old and fit just fine -- but at that wedding, I was 5 months pregnant. Oh well, at least I got my $$s worth.
hazelson
Another thought on old wedding outfits - my first wedding I was about 6 months pregnant - lol. Can't see myself in maternity clothes on formal night lol. If I can't laugh at myself then I can't laugh at anyone lol - TTFN Jennifer

TheSkipper
Just looked in my wife's closet and figure she could do a 15 formal night cruise without any problem!! After 40 cruises she has quite a collection. For me the good old tux and a white dinner jacket, a couple of shirts and I'm good to go! :undecided:
