Tamara
everyone here has been so generous with information and advice on everything from dinner seatings to messing around with the crew for this first time Alaska cruiser, so, if any Alaska bound folks have any questions at all about Vancouver (where I have lived all of my life and love) please ask and it will be my turn to help you. I'm a dedicated shopper and love our local restaurants, so will be happy to help you, as you have helped me. KeithnRita
Tamara, We always list Vancouver as one of our most enjoyable embarkation ports. We have only been to your city that one time--but we loved it. We stayed in the hotel across the avenue from Canada Place. A bunch of us did a walking tour of the area the night before the cruise. We stopped at a great restaurant that was also a mini brewery--can't remember the name. The food was outstanding! We cruised on the Statendam and it was neat seeing the ship docked so close to our hotel. HAL had check-in at the hotel and walked us across the avenue for our boarding.
Tamara
Sounds like you went to "Steamworks". There are a few good brew pubs in town; if you sample everything on offer, it's best if your hotel is nearby!
Shari2
Thanks, Tamara! If I can ever talk my DH into doing an Alaska cruise, (he thinks it will be too cold)I'll sure be asking you some questions.
