I still havn't been able to find much info on DR, does any one know if shopping and beaches are within walking distance from the ship, or do we have to take a taxi?

I know there is a beach at Bayahibe but don't know if it is good for snorkeling.

We really don't want to take a ships tour, then you are on a set time, would rather just go on our own.
