Jason
After watching the Travel Channel document the a week's cruise aboard the Disney Magic, I found some very interesting details about the ship that I had not known about. I'm going to share these interesting tidbits in 2 parts. This is part 1 of 2. Did you know... -Most cabins aboard the ship have 2 bathrooms -Only 1 of the 2 smokestacks aboard the ship are actually operational...the first one is home to the ESPN Sports Bar, and is purely for decorative purposes only, to help achieve the look of a classic cruise liner (most classic liners had 2-4 smokestacks). -The ship was built in 2 physically separate halves....The two sections were constructed in 2 different ports that were over 100 miles away. When both of the halves of the ship were finished, one was floated using tugboats across the 100 mile distance to get to the other half. The amazingly delicate task of combining the two halves of the ship then began.
GottaCruz
That's really interesting, Jason. I didn't know the ships were built in 2 separate places and then put together. I also am very surprised to hear about the cabins having 2 bathrooms. Now that we could use.
