KeithnRita
It seems we see more and more theme cruises being advertised. It could be because there is more ships and cruises available then when we started cruising--which was seven years ago. Our next cruise, the Zaandam, goes in dry-dock right after our cruise--they are adding a Neptune Lounge. The first cruise after dry-dock is a jazz music cruise. We would probably be interested in some theme cruises--perhaps country music or a Jeep Jamboree at sea. Boy, that would be very interesting! We like to dance so perhaps a "Bar Room Dancing" cruise in lieu of Ball Room dancing? What's your ideas for a theme cruise?
PEB
The only theme cruise we were on was our first cruise which was a cruise for a total eclipse. There was a lot of lectures on the stars and how to take photographs of the eclipse. The also had one of the astronauts from the first moon landing who brought some very interesting pictures and film on the training and the landing. I'm not sure if I would bother going on another theme cruise, it was interesting but was a little to much of one thing on the cruise. TheSkipper
We have done a Country Western Music cruise and since I used to teach Country Western dancing we had a ball. Only time I took jeans and boots on a cruise! :cheesy:
Tamara
I would like to see a Pirates of the Caribbean or Master and Commander (the movies) themed cruise with: a) every man aboard looking like Johnny Depp or Russell Crowe or equivalent machismo (I'm so shallow, I know, and putting my feminist politics aside) b) lots of swashbuckling sorts of things happening, like fencing lessons and swinging from ropes and things c) how to stuff myself into a whalebone corset and long dress and not throw up (probably not best to drink a bunch of beer beforehand) d) all of the above
Shari2
Haven't been on an actual themed cruise, but a few of the cruises I was on had theme nights with special dress such as, Country Western, Island night, or Mexican Dress night while in Mexico. Hope it is great! It is on Crystal. :cheesy: Love, Elena
GottaCruz
I would love to go on a Country Western cruise. I'd love to dress up in my western shirts that I used to wear when we went to a country western club years ago and did line dancing. I'd love to see everyone else dressed in cowboy shirts , hats, boots , etc. I just love that look. I'd also love then to have a lounge with country music all weekend . Allan Jackson aboard or Kenney Chesney aboard would definitely enhance the experience. :cheesy:
