hillorama
Hi! Our Crystal Cruise is less than 9 weeks away! We have decided on all the other activities in other ports in the British Isles, but we know very little about Waterford, Ireland. Have any of you ever been there? Is it a beautiful town, or an ugly town. Great beaches? Lousy beaches? I know the crystal factory is there, but we live in earthquake country, and I couldn't go to the factory without wanting to buy a ton of crystal, which would be masochistic. They do offer a great all-day drive to Kilkenny, which is inland. Am looking for advice here! Love, Elena :cheesy:
KeithnRita
Elena, Here's a website that might help you out. It looks like it will be a great place to visit. http://www.waterfordtourism.org/
Shari2
Sorry I can't help you out Elena, I haven't been to Ireland, yet... but being of some Irish descent, I would sure love to go there someday! I would also go a little crazy around all that nice crystal, but I'm sure my DH would keep me under control.
hillorama
Hi. Thanks for the help. Keith and Rita, I had already been to that web site, but it gave amazingly little info on the town of Waterford itself. But we have made a decision to go inland to Kilkenny. Since we will have spent a full day at sea cruising along the shore of Ireland, I figure we will have seen the coastline, and I long to see the legendary green hills of Ireland. Kilkenny, in several of the books I researched, is touted as being Ireland's most beautiful inland city. We'll see. Just eight weeks now! :cheesy: Love, Elena
