Has anyone ever been invited to dine at the Captain's Table? I've read about it, but never experienced it. If you have been invited, what is it like? Just curious.

Howard,

We've been on between 17-20 curises, lost track of exactly how many. We've never been to the Captain's table. That's ok with us since sometmes we have dinner at the buffet instead of the dining room. We enjoy not being on any particular schedule and we go to the dining room when the time works out with what we want to do. By the way, if not too many members respond to this thread, it's because there was this same discussion about a week or two ago so you can go back to previous pages if you'd like to see how others responded. I just didn't want you to think it's not an interesting topic because it is. Any topic at all that you post is greatly appreciated so please keep up the great job that you've been doing and post away. Cheryl

We've sat at the table next to the Captain's table. Most times, it is empty. Beautiful centerpieces every night and no folks.

One cruise, we were at a table for six. The other couple at our table (not Marcy and James) were invited to the Captain's table. Their comment was they were afraid they were going to spill something, say something wrong or inappropriate, etc. They said they much preferred being "at our table."
