Kristy9299
Im going to Ocho Rios, Jamaica, Grand Cayman and Cozumel...I was wondering if anyone books excursions on the internet or from someone other than carnival, When i was on the imagination i heard some people say that it was much cheaper to book it yourself than to go with carnival. But on the other hand arent they guaranteed if you go thru carnival?
Dan
With the gas prices these days, I'd never do an Excursion. Anything Expedition and larger is too much of a gas guzzler. Oh wait, you aren't talking Ford SUV's here, are you? LOL
jbond
I don't know if it's your first time in these ports, but ship excursions are usually a little more expensive than booking your own, but they are reliable. Unless you know what you want to see and do, I feel that first time in a port, a ship excursion is always a safe bet, price difference is usually negligible. There is a lot of experience out there as to what to do in the three ports you are visiting. Is it your first time in these three? If so you are in for a great time. hillorama
A million or so years ago, we took a cruise to Jamaica, (Norwegian Caribbean Line, I think) and we hired drivers in cabs or jeeps or whatever wherever we went. Even had a driver drive a group from Kingston to Dunn's River Falls, a definite must see in the Ocho Rios area. It was soooo much less expensive than the expeditions offered by the ship. But silly us.....we didn't even know the ship offered expeditions then! You just have to be sure to get back in time if you go on your own! TheSkipper
Kristy, Just a little food for thought. If you book on your own after you disembark with a cab driver you will be paying in cash. On a ship's excrusion it is charged to your onboard account. Cozumel is a very easy walking town unless you want o go to the Mayan Ruins.
