We had a tablemate from Hell. But the problem is that I had met another couple on a roll call and we arranged to sit together along with our other 2 constant cruise buddies. Then this other couple was also chatting with another couple from the roll call board and invited them to join us. The husband was nice and on the roll call the wife seemed really nice. But when we had them in person, she complained about everything. So much so that the late night in Aruba Phil & I ate in Carlos & Charlies, and the other couple at ate at Portofino's for thier anniversary, leaving our 2 cruise buddies with them. But the husband cruise buddy will not pay extra for a meal and likes to be waited in so he even eats breakfast in the DR. So he opted to put up with them .

And one night the horror ate at Portofino's also. So we had 2 night respite from them. If I could have changed the table I would have, but how do you uninvite someone?

The waiter even got mad at her the last night. I am surprised he waited so long! I have no doubt they undertip ( if at all) so he could have said it earlier! The other couple is now one of our friends so I did not want to abandon them either. So sometimes you have to put up with it.

On our last cruise on the Horizon we were at a table for 8 at the very end of one of the dining room "wings." Our first night there was just 6 of us at the table, however, on the second night a mother and her daughter from England joined our table. The mother was 85 and did not like the conversation and actions at her first table from a male couple. Her daughter said she is just to conservative. They turned our to be great table mates with a great sense of humor. We had a ball with them and are still in contact. The ladies all complained of being to cold as our table was below the return air. They tried to adjust the cooling to no avail so they finally switched our location to another table that was not being used. This was after some insistence on our part.
