Time Incongruities

This weekend I found out something interesting about the way time works. We are now less than 3 weeks until we cruise. Until this point, it felt like the cruise would never come. All of a sudden this weekend, we felt like we did not have enough time left to get everything done that needed to get done. We almost found ourselves (but not quite) wishing that we had another week or two to prepare for the cruise.

Oh well, I'm sure that everything will get done

rogue...I can really relate to what you are saying. When we book so far out it seems like we have all the time in the world, but it does get here sooner than we think. Even though I have five months before my cruise, I had better get ready for it. Hope you have a fantastic cruise!

We always feel that we have everything we need and then, of course, a couple of days before, we're always running out to get things that we just have to take. My 12 year old daughter says that packing is her favorite part of cruising. It's all I can do to keep her from packing weeks before, especially since she packs the stuff that she needs to wear and use up till the last minute.

We have found that using a spare bedroom closet for my tux stuff and shirts that I pretty much only wear for cruising helps a lot. Also, a couple weeks prior to the cruise we begin to stack things on the bed in that room, so when time gets short packing is a breeze.

Suitcases are never closed until about 30 minutes prior to the limo arrival to take us to the airport.

But Keith and Rita are right, anticipation is a large part of the fun of cruising. I am now planning our shore excursions for our Mexican Riveria cruise in September. Only been to all these ports a dozen or more times, but always look forward to doing something different.
