Kristy9299
Does Cozumel, Jamacia and the Grand Cayman Island accept them? And how do you all travel with travelers checks, cash or credit?
DaCruzNut
In Cozumel and jamaica, there are a lot of small stands that accept only cash. They love the "Yankee Dollar" and you can haggle and get good prices, and value, with dollars! All of the stores will accept travelers checks, and credit cards. But, again, some will give you a much better price if you pay in cash. Of course, with "big ticket" items, you want to use a credit card. that way, if you run into a problem, you can laways "reverse the charge." I usually travel with some cash and a few credit cards......
hillorama
I take a little cash, a credit card, a few travelers checks, and make a substantial bank deposit before I leave and use ATMs. They are very handy! Love, Elena
sailingrose
We carry some cash, usually small bills for haggling and tipping. We carry mostly travelers checks as they are excepted pretty much anywhere and when we return home we keep them for the next trip. (If we have any left that is LOL) I hardly use a credit card out of the country as we had a bad experience with a store in Mexico that waited to bill us until there money was worth more. Of course that was years ago so I can't comment on today. You can always bring t checks and cash them in the casino or at guest relations. Make sure you have small bills for the vendors but the larger stores take t checks without a problem.

TheSkipper
Usually no charge aboard ship to cash traveler's checks. We have pretty much stopped using them in favor of credit cards and ATM's which work great!! Of course you always need some cash for out of pocket purchases, haggling, etc.
