I have an upgrade question

If I booked an OV guarantee for Sept and have been checking out various sites for the date I am sailing and they all say sold out on interior and oceanview should I get excited. I have gone to cheaptickets.expedia, orbitz, cruise411, etc and they all say sold out for those two catergories.............

History has shown that there isn't anything scientific about upgrades. Sometimes they might have already slotted you in for a higher cabin, and sold your category out, while other times they have you in your guaranteed category, and you're part of that category being sold out. Or it could be that those online agencies have sold out their share of cabins, but other companies might have holds on blocks of other cabins in those categories, and will release them later.

You can always be excited, but you also shouldn't have your hopes up either, until you receive word either when your tickets arrive or when you get to the ship and find out what cabin you really are in.

I agree with Dan, Maria...you shouldn't get your hopes up for an upgrade. While they do happen, you usually get what you booked. We had a guaranteed balcony on our last cruise, and that's what we got and expected to get.

We have one again on this upcoming cruise to Hawaii. While it would be great to have an upgrade, I'm not expecting one, especially since this cruise is sold out. It would be great to get an upgrade. I hope you do, Maria!
