Sorry about the vague title but this has got to be the first time I've ever booked a trip so far in advance. Aren't last minute bookings the way to get a better price?

I don't think that is always true Iggy but then again I am a novice.......

Depends on the line and what they have to offer in late bookings. I've found in general Princess tends to be cheaper if you book later but RCI goes up in price.

It might also depend on the time of year that you're sailing. Our cruise (6/27/04) on the Mariner just kept going up in price!
