Shari2
Does anyone have any suggestions for things to do or see in Hawaii other than the usual touristy things? Where did you shop, where did you find your best meals or your best mai tai, or where did you go that was a little different than the usual? Did you take any tours or go to places that were a bit different from the usual? We have seen most of the things that should be seen, such as the Arizona Memorial and the Waimea Canyon. Looking for any suggestions that are a bit different. Are there still people waiting(cab drivers, etc.) when you get off the ship in ports who want to take you on tours that have not been planned? Thanks for any and all suggestions!!
TheSkipper
Hi Shari, Since we will be with you on this cruise to Hawaii, I will be following this thread as well. We have never cruised Hawaii although we have visited it a couple of times, so we are looking for suggestions as well.

BridaBunny
We spent 5 days precruise in Oahu. We just rented a car. The other couple we cruise with have been there many times. We did the Diamond Head hike to the top, that is a must see. But it is not an easy trek. Doable but make sure you bring water. We also did the Luau at Paradise Cove, that was fun. Email me for link to my pictures, I have many up on webshots.
Shari2
Hi Barbara! Thanks for replying! My DH and BIL are considering climbing Diamond Head, but that's too much for this grandma! How did you like the Paradise Cove luau? I have heard that Germaine's is another good one on Oahu. I really wanted to go to one on Maui, but they changed the amount of time that we will be in port there, so we won't have time to do one on Maui. Oahu is the only port that we will have enough time to do a luau on. Did you like the food? Was it on the beach, and did you like the entertainment? What time was it over? I'm still trying to decide between Germaine's and Paradise Cove! Thanks again for replying! I'd love to see your pictures...I'll check back with you later. It's 4 in the morning, and I'd better get some sleep!
