ftreloar
We are doing the Inside Passage & was wondering from all the cruise experts out there if $1200 per couple is worth the extra for a balcony? We are going at the end of Aug. & was also wondering if it is warm enough to sit out & enjoy the balcony especially with morning coffee. zima
Since I've had a balcony - I'll never go back to anything else. You will LOVE it!

rogue
I agree. Once you have a balcony, it's hard to go back. Especially in Alaska where the scenery is constantly changing. On most cruises, you're looking out at the ocean most of the time. But in Alaska, you're usually looking at some type of scenery. We felt that on our Alaskan cruise, the balcony was worth more than we actually paid for it. Howard

Shari2
Welcome to Cruise Crazies ftreloar! I haven't been to Alaska, yet, but I have had a balcony, and I loved it. I would sure want one in Alaska with all the beauty and wildlife to see! I think it would be worth it if it wouldn't hurt your budget too much!! Tamara
I went to Alaska on HA last May. We were blessed with sunny, warm weather and we loved our balcony. We spent a lot of time out there, talking, reading and watching the world go by. My travel companion smokes, so it was good for her to be able to smoke on the balcony. We enjoyed sitting out there for coffee in the morning and other sorts of beverages later on in the day. I think a balcony is definitely worth the money. If you're not much for crowds and shipboard activities, it's even more worth it.
