Where did you vacation before cruising?

We went to the Catskill Mts., the Concord Hotel in N.Y. or , when I was growing up we came down to Florida to the Fountainbleau Hotel on Miami Beach. We also used to go to a hotel in Lakewood New Jersey, called the Fairmont Hotel. I don't even know if the Fairmont is still around. We would take horse and buggy rides around the area and do lots of ice skating.

We also did the Catskill circuit and the Poconos. Of course Wildwood (Oh those Wildwood days) and Seaside Heights.............We also had a place in Ellenville, N.Y.

Camp Marydale in Nyack NY while I was growing up. Then when we got married and had kids Central Florida to visit my parents.

Now we live in Central Florida and vacation by ship. Can't remember any other way to do vacation anymore.

California, Las Vegas, the Black Hills, the Ozarks, and driving trips around the US. We also spent a lot of time at our lake place in years past.

We went mostly to the Jersey shore, and a little to the Poconos. We also have a time share down on Sanibel Island. We do that once in a while becausee we have reletives in the area, so we kill two birds with one stone.

We live in Maine and the wife's family is in South Dakota and mine is in Alabama. As we drove to visit with the families, we played Joe Tourist on the way and sometimes quite a way out of the way. Our goal is to visit all states and as many countries as we can. We each need only two states (I need Oregon and North Dakota and she needs Washington and Alaska) to complete all 50 and we have visited 46 countries and/or islands in our 29 years of marriage. We'll pick up two new countries (Gibralta and Portugal) in a couple of weeks to bring the list up to 48.
