Now that the packing list thing is out of the way. My next big thing is. Proper tipping procedures. Does anyone have any guidelines as to who gets what amount? This will be DH's department, but I want to make sure he is clear on who gets what. Thanks a bunch. :cheesy:

On HAL the auto tip is $10 per day each, making the total for a seven day cruise $140.00. That was the same on Celebrity last year. Not sure what RCI is. Our last cruise on a RCI was the Rhapsody and the recommended amount was $3.50 per day each for cabin steward and head waiter and half of that amount for assistant waiter, making the total $122.50. That was in 2002.

Waiter and Cabin Steward were still 3.50 and the assistant waiter is 2.00 per person from June. Head waiter also has a recommended amount. If you have your tickets you can check the current numbers.

Don't forget some smaller bills to tip the luggage handlers at the pier!

Not to worry, you will get plenty of information while on board regarding tipping. With over 40 cruise under our belts, we have never been left in the dark regarding the recommended tipping amounts!
