Jason
I've seen many movies over the years that have a cruise ship or two in the background, specifically the ships lined up at the Port of Miami. That gave me a great idea.... Let's see how many movies we can name that either take place on a cruise, have something to do with a cruise, or even movies that simply show cruise ships in the background of the action. To give everyone a chance to contribute, let's try to limit each of us to only 1 movie at first. Here goes: #1 - Bad Boys II (ships in background)
Lisa63
My all-time favorite: An Affair to Remember, starring Cary Grant, Deborah Kerr, and SS Constitution.
sailinglisa
I think it was called Out To Sea starring Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau - and I think it was filmed on the Westerdam.
Waterman
"Boat Trip" with Cuba Gooding Jr. If you have not seen this movie, please go to your local store and rent it for the night. This is the funniest movie of all times. I never stopped laughing from start to finish. Watched it many times and still wet my pants, lol. It will make you think twice when booking a cruise, lol. This is one movie they should show on a cruise.
Dan
Speed 2: Cruise Control. Seabourn Pride or Legend. (The movie was so bad, I haven't seen it in years, and forget which ship was in it)
DaCruzNut
Yes, dan, the movie was a 'bomb!' But, the special effects were terrific! I, particularly, liked the scene where the Seaborn Legend crashes into Philipsburg, St. Maarten. I happened to be in Key West, when they were filming that scene. They built a replica of the town at the Naval Base, and filmed at night with a zillion lights. It lit up the whole port area... I never did find out why they didn't just do the shoot during the day!
