Jason
Supercruiser to dock at Dover By Peter Woodman, PA Travel Correspondent Dover will welcome a brand new cruise ship this summer when Norwegian Cruise Line's Norwegian Jewel sails from the Kent port. The company will be taking delivery of the 92,000-ton vessel from the Meyer Werft shipyard in Bremerhaven, Germany, on August 5, 2005. Five days later the new ship, described as a 'true floating resort' will leave Dover on a 13-night Mediterranean cruise which will include stops at Lisbon, Gibraltar, Cannes and Barcelona. Then, on August 23, the Norwegian Jewel will sail from Dover on a 12-night Baltic cruise where passengers will be able to go ashore in Oslo, Helsinki, St Petersburg, Berlin and Copenhagen. The final cruise from Dover before the ship moves to its base in Miami will be on September 4. Entitled 'Path of the Vikings', this trip will include visits to Cork, Reykjavik in Iceland, St John's in Newfoundland, and Newport in Rhode Island before arriving in New York on September 14.
