Where to keep belongings while in water

Hi all, newbie here.

Does anyone have suggestions on how and where to keep your belongings safe while snorkeling? We are going to do the beach buggy/snorkel excursion in Cozumel. This will be our first cruise.

We purchased waterproof wallets on a lanyard. They are large enough to hold your room card, money and maybe a few cigs (if you are a smoker). They seal shut and are worn around your neck. Retail about $5.00. Hope this helps
