Drift Snorkel

We're looking at excursions and see one that is described as a "drift snorkel". Does anyone know what this is ? How does this differ from any other type of snorkelling. My wife doesn't swim too well, but does like to snorkel with some type of flotation devise. Thanks.

We have drift snorkeled twice in French Polynesia, but never in the Caribbean. It basically consisted of the swimmers getting in the water at one point and snorkeling the same as usual. Because of a current in the water, everybody eventually drifted to a pickup point where the boat had moved to. If you're not a good swimmer, it is probably a good way to snorkel, as it's very relaxing. In Raiatea we drift snorkeled over a coral "forest". It was a great way to see it without a lot of exertion.
