Port of Miami hotels

Rate this topic

Recommended Posts

We live about 4 hours from Miami and want to drive down to the port one weekend and spend the night near the port so we can watch the cruise ships pull out of port (what a sight that must be!). I know there are several Cruise Crazies who live in the Miami area, so I'm asking for your help.

Can you help me with the names of the hotels that are closest to the port?

Thanks so much for your help!

The hotels in downtown Miami, that have a good view of the ports, are, unfortunately, in a "bad" area. You might want to consider staying in Miami Beach, and at, about, 4:00 pm walk down to Southe Point Park.

All the ships pass so close you feel you can touch out and reach them!

If you've sailed from Miami, as you left the port you sailed down a channel. At the end of the channel, the ship makes a left hand turn, and goes through Government Cut, a narrow channel that passes Miami Beach, and then out to sea.

South Point Park is on the left side of the Channel.

Sorry, don't know much about them. But, I do know that the "deco" ones, even though refurbished, aren't worth antwhere near what they charge. They're still 30-35 years old. I'd look for one of the major chains. I know there are quite a few. Also, stop at your local McDonald's and pick up one of those Florida Travelsaver Guides.
