gogetter
Hello, We are thinking of staying the night before our Fascination cruise. What are the good places to stay near the port? Thanks...
DaCruzNut
Unfortunately, the hotels “near the port†are in downtown Miami, which is far from a good neighborhood, at night. Some of the hotels are nice, and fine for a one-night pre-cruise stay. They are near Bayside Market Place, and you can grab a cab to the Hard Rock Café, at Bayside, and visit all the shop, live music, etc; Also, a short taxi ride to South Beach. DaCruzNut
Gee, I'm in Ft. Lauderdale, so it's not too good or Miami. My rate for the spare room is reasonable, but I charge a fortune for the shuttle service.... .......................... Seriously, downtown Miami, where the hotels are, isn't too bad. It's just not that good, either. Just don't be stupid! likle any other city, if you don't know where you're going, don't go there. You can grab a cab from the hotel to Bayside Market place, where there are plenty of restaurants, places to shop, live entertanment and a Hard RockCafe. You're also a short taxi ride from SoBe. sailingrose
If you stay at the Holiday Inn Jeff mentioned it is just across the street from Bayside Market. They do charge for parking $10 per night but there will be no need for a cab to Bayside. We just a stayed there last month.
schatje
Thanks Rose that sound great to me. Being able to walk across the street to go shopping and for food is the ticket.
DaCruzNut
The Holiday Inn is fine for one night, and is a nice, clean, hotel. A better choice, if it matters to you, is the Dupont Plaza. It’s just down the block, and is much nicer (more expensive!). If you’re not planning on spending much time at the hotel, I’d stick with the Holiday Inn. You can check them both at: Holiday Inn - http://miami.hotelguide.net/data/h100695.htm Dupont Plaza - [url=http://miami.hotelguide.net/data/h100693.htm]http://miami.hotelguide.net/data/h100693.htm
sunshineforblue
hey all...first post!! We are on the July 25th sailing of Fascination. It will be the first for both me and my boyfriend. I'm so excited!! Anyway, we will be arriving the day before the cruise and will fly into Miami around noon. We will be getting a shuttle to the Hyatt and then we have all evening to do what we want! Does anyone have any idea of what is around there to do or do we need to try to rent a car? Our ship doesn't sail out until 4pm, but I guess the check in time is 1:30, right? Any suggestions would be great !!![/b]
