Jason
MIAMI, July 11 /PRNewswire/ -- The readers of Travel + Leisure magazine have added their acclaim to the growing list of awards and accolades accruing to Seabourn Cruise Line, ranking its three elegant, yacht-like sister-ships the "World's Best Small Ship Cruise Line" in the magazine's 10th annual World's Best Awards. Since the Seabourn yachts also earned the highest score awarded to any cruise line by readers of Departures magazine in its most recent Luxury Survey, the combined honors amount to a Seabourn sweep of readers' polls sponsored by American Express Publishing Corporation's upscale travel and lifestyle publications, which reach a combined circulation of over 1.65 million affluent households. Seabourn's president, Deborah L. Natansohn, said, "Topping the Travel + Leisure poll is enormously gratifying for all of us. We are extremely proud of the shipboard and shoreside staffs that produce this level of satisfaction on the part of our guests, day after day." With the addition of the Departures and Travel + Leisure rankings, Seabourn has had a consistent record of praises from prestigious sources over the past months. Seabourn Spirit is once again the highest rated cruise ship in the world in the 2005 Conde Nast Traveler Readers' Poll. Spirit was awarded the same title in the 2003 poll. Identical sisters Seabourn Pride and Seabourn Legend shared the spotlight with admirable scores in their own rights. Pride earned a perfect 100 for "Destinations" and "Crew/Service" and Legend took the top spot in the small ship category for "Food/Dining," barely edging ahead of second-place Spirit by two-tenths of a point. The readers of Porthole cruising lifestyle magazine picked Seabourn Spirit as their 2004 Best Small Ship, and the magazine's 2005 Editor-in-Chief Award went to Seabourn for the Best Luxury Cruise Experience. In addition, Seabourn has been honored on every one of Conde Nast Traveler's prestigious annual Gold Lists, a remarkable testament to the line's consistent excellence. The line also scored overseas, taking top honors from the readers of the U. K. newspaper The Telegraph and the Swiss Travel Star Gold award, based on a survey of Swiss travel agencies. This year, Seabourn earned the coveted Five Star Diamond Award from the American Institute of Hospitality Sciences for the eleventh time. Seabourn is the only cruise line to have consistently received the honor since it was first created. Seabourn's highly inclusive onboard experience provides a series of thoughtful enhancements to shipboard and shoreside services called Signature Delights that add luxury and value for guests aboard the three 208-guest Yachts of Seabourn: Seabourn Pride, Spirit and Legend. Signature Delights include complimentary service of spirits and wines including French champagne throughout every cruise; free Massage Moments for guests on deck; gourmet cuisine created by celebrity chef Charlie Palmer; indulgent Pure Pampering therapeutic bathing selections from Molton Brown and an Exclusively Seabourn complimentary shoreside experience on every cruise.
