Will the kids have their own S & S card? if so can we just put money on it, incase they loose it and then who ever finds it runs our Visa into the ground..

they are 3 teens....

If we are allowed just to put money on it, do we do that the first day at the customer service desk?

Thanks

Its Royal Carribean..not sure if they even have a age limit for the cards...Just hate for the kids to drag us around all day for the cards, for stuff they want to do and pay for..and I hate to give them ours as they are linked to our Visa..

I love my kids but they loose things like crazy...

Thanks I think I'll do that..just so we know for sure....

But the kids don't know about the Cruise, so I will have to sneak around to call..lol..

or I could kick them out of the house, lock the doors and then have them banging to get back in..and then the dogs will be barking..lol..

Maybe hard cash $$$$$$$$$$$ to get them out of the house will work???

I'll post when I get the answer...

Thanks

We always bought our kids the drink card so that they wouldn't have to come to us for sodas . WE never gave our teens a sail and sign card. For the video arcade, they were able to use cash so there wasn't any reason to give them a sail and sign. And yes- with that card, at least on Carnival, it's like a credit card . Maybe it's different of RC but I don't know.

The kids all get sign and sail cards because it is their room key and the ID needed to leave and return to the ship. When you sign the credit card authorization you can specify whether or not they are authorized to charge on their card. If you don't want them to have credit, just buy them the soft drink card, or in most cases a stamp or punch on the sign and sail card.

On our last two cruises, we had to authorize our son's card so that automatic tips could be applied. As far as I know, tipping on RCI may be done the old way (cash), so this shouldn't be an issue, but just a heads-up for parents who are traveling on other lines.

I don't know if this is still an option, but check to see if you can put a $ limit on their cards.

I haven't had a chance to call.. but I think with RCI when we sailed the tipping wasn't automatic .. we will pay cash...got it all figired out what we need...

and I'm sure we can do the cash way for them as I know people who don't use a credit card can just apply cash onto it...

But I will double check...
