cruisinmama
I'm curious to see who continues their work outs even while Cruising? I do work out daily, but think I'd be a little shy going into the gym, we don't have a gym where i live so I do all my workouts at home.. I could use the walking track in the am...but feel i walk lots when we are doing excursions.. Do you feel guilty when you don't do it? Thanks
GottaCruz
I do work out while cruising, cruisinmama. I have to because of the way we eat. In fact , I work out more on the ship than at home because we need to fit into the clothes that we have for the rest of the cruise. I work out at home using a recumbent bicycle that we have in front of the tv. I also do some strenth training- we have that equipment in the garage. The gym on the ship is great- they have everything imaginable. I use the treadmill or the bike. Unfortunately, the Fascination doesn't have the recumbent bicycles so I had to use the upright one. Boy , does that make your tush sore. :undecided: Hubby and I also do a great deal of walking to burn off calories on the ship. We don't like to climb the stairs to the top level for the track so we walk in the hallways at odd hours of the day when the hallways are empty. You know, it would be a lot easier on the joints if we didn't eat so much and then didn't have to exercise so much.

JoeyandDavid
Ann I dont use the gym on land much less the sea..However we do use the spa facilities, steam and Hydro pools..Those really make it for us..wish we could afford to do owners cabin once and really live high on the swine
sailingrose
Sometimes yes, sometimes no. I didn't on the last cruise as I really wanted to rest and loaf for the week. I try to hit the treadmill at least 3 or 4 times during a week to keep the extra calories at bay normally. I'll be at the gym next month for sure. Dan
I went to the gym on the Grand Princess, early on the first sea day. Found it to be a total pain in the butt to try to get in any kind of workout there. They just didn't have enough equipment, and if you dared stop for half a second, somebody was bugging you to let them have a turn. I figured I would get in my exercise by getting a table further away from the buffet, and by doubling the trips this would surely burn off some calories. Lisa63
I make it to the gym at least 2-3 times during a 7-night cruise. I also do a daily walk-a-mile on the promenade deck before breakfast, unless we have an early shore excursion planned. I usually lose a pound or two on a cruise... wish it was that easy at home.
