Tipping....

We have the link for what you should tip for what ever amount of days you sail on each ship.....BUT I was wondering about the extra stuff, like baggage..and if we do dine in the extra restaurants?

Is there a set tip amount for some of those ? trying to figure out how much american money we need to have...

Depending on the service rendered will dictate the amount of tip.

We normally go by the following guidelines and then adjust from there.

Room Service one tray $2.00

Bags ..$1.00 per bag

Escort to room $2.00/3.00 dollars

Extra or Specailaty resturant .. depending on service anywhere between $5.00 and $20.00 depending on Service and Expierence.

Of course anytime someone excedes our expectations they get rewarded, so you may want to plan on a few extra ones or fives.

Thats just what we do.. with out a doubt others have opinions!

On RCI you, if you want you can have your tips added to your account, you have to fill out a form stating so. I usally bring 10 or 15 one $ bills/pp for the extras such as bags.

I pretty much agree with Joey and David but room service varies very widely. I don't think I'd tip only $2 for a tray especially with 4 of us in the room. Of course if it only drinks thats different. I know you are traveling with your family so you'll be ordering more probably. We did breakfast once for the 4 of us, some full meals some not and we gave them about $2 per person since we ordered alot.

We have never had room service...lol...Sound like such country bumpkins..our last Crusie our first..we were up so early and I gotta have the coffee in me within minutes or ELSE :grin:

So we hit the Windjammer by 6:30 am...room service for the morning didn't work..and we were in a Port every day so lunch if we came back, we grabbed pizza..and found chairs and didn't move..

and dinner we did the dinning room....I'm hoping this trip dh & I do room service....at least once for breakie.. we have 2 sea days so those would be a great time to try it..
