I was looking at your home page and saw the 2006 cruise you have planned.......

1....What inspired you to book that cruise?

2....What are your thoughts on Monte Carlo????????

We booked our Mediterranean cruise for 2006 because I promised David that when we got all the bills paid we would start traveling.

Friends of ours wanted to do a land thing in Europe London/ Paris but it was decided that we really needed to wait until 2006 to undertake something of that magnitude.

When I saw this Itinerary, I thought this would be terrific especially because it falls in and around DP birthday (Halloween) and the fact he loves escargot I figured what a nice present to give him the Cannes Region Monte Carlo Nice and all the rest for his birthday.( WE ACTUALLY DOCK IN NICE FOR 18 HOURS ON THE 31ST OF OCTOBER) I have engaged a private tour for us that will allow up to 8 people total to see anything in the region on our schedule.. Kind of pricey something like 550 Euros for the day, but thatÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s why we book so far out so we can make plans.

I had not had the privilege, of visiting anywhere outside of North America this trip will give us a m opportunity to Visit and see and smell the sites that , well up to this point I get to see only on the Travel Channel.

As far as Monte Carlo, I plan on losing a euro or two in the casino ..no more but to say I played!

I am truly excited to see it along with that whole region, the chocolate factories perfume factories, Chagall museum, and so much more.

I donÃ¢â‚¬â„¢t know if that answered your questions or not. Let me know if I fell short!

Bottom Line why this trip?? Cause I promised :undecided:

I often wonder why or how, or what makes someone book a cruise....especially something so different than what i would do.....

My dream cruise or trip would be to Bora Bora............ :grin:

I have been playing with doing stuff with our video camera so our review might and i repeat Might be a video one that I will upload to a site..

Joey & David,

I am sure you will have a fab time on this itinerary, Monte Carlo is awesome - you can smell the money in the air!!! Nice & Cannes are a few minutes apart and if you get time to visit the harbour area of Cannes it is very quaint.. It is amazing how compact the whole French Riviera is due to the builing restristions outside the city areas - we drove down the French alps to Nice and was amazed by the difference between the north side of the Motorway and south side.

Pity you wern't in the UK for Halloween - it's a major night for the kids over here.

I think the adults over here are getting more involved now - there seem to be a list of parties we have to now go to on the 31st (and obviously the 5th Nov as well) at least it adds a little fun to the dismal dark evenings that are Oct & Nov!! I think I may suffer from that Winter depression syndrome!! haha :grin: If I get chance to do a cruise at that time I will ask where the best place for Halloween parties are (for some reason new eangland is calling me!)
