Bus Transfer

Hi everyone...

I have some friends who will be taking a cruise on the Veendam at the end of August. They will be cruising from Vancouver to Seward. At Seward they will be taking a bus(ship's transfer) to the airport in Anchorage.

They are supposed to make one stop inbetween to the Egan Convention Center. Does anyone know if they can get off there and take their luggage with them. They have relatives that they would meet and visit with, as their plane isn't scheduled to take off until 9:50 PM.

If anyone has any information about this ship's transfer to the airport in Anchorage, I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

We did the opposite route but we did have to wait in the Eagan Center for several hours before the buses came. In your case there will be plenty of time to get your luggage and visit before you go to airport. We had our luggage with us until we got on the bus so I believe it will be the same with you. I hope this helps.

I did tell my friends to check with Holland America, but thought I would see if anyone here had done this and get their experience. This really helps!

Shari,

Tell them to trade their bus transfers in for the Alaska Railroad instead. It costs more, but is well worth it. That was the highlight of our cruise. They bus you to the Eagan Center once you arrive at the Anchorage train station. We stayed over a couple extra days so we picked up our luggage there.

Keith and Rita...

Their final destination will be the airport at Anchorage. Will they be able to take the train from Seward to the Eagan Convention Center? Do you know about how far from Anchorage the Eagan center is? Thanks for your reply!
