Jamaican Money

Hi - we'll be sailing into Montego Bay, Jamaica in about a month :cheesy: and I was wondering if anyone knew if they take American money or do you have to exchange it for Jamaican money? We're going to bring some cash with us and I wasn't sure if it should be done on the ship or just go with our money. Anyone know?

I'm sure if you take small US bills, you will be fine. Just be prepared to pay whole dollars for things, unless you want a pocket full of local small change.

The people who live on ALL Caribbean islands (with the exception of the Caymans) love the Yankee Dollar. They even have a Calypso song about it. Just make sure you get your change in American currency!

Thanks all. Great information. We don't plan on bringing very much and maybe a little bit of change (for the grandchildren) wouldn't be too bad.
