I also wanted to ask is the price on all Cruiselines what you see is what you get? or is that only RCI? for online prices... Thanks

Dan
Haven't done a Christmas cruise yet. Not sure if we will. First off, I've only had my job for 18 years, so that isn't enough seniority to get Christmas vacation yet LOL. Plus, family time is important to my wife at Christmas, so as long as her parents are still around, I doubt we'll be travelling at Christmas. Shari2
Hi Ann... I haven't been on at Christmas, but I was on the "Infinity" one week before Christmas, and the ship was decorated for the holidays. It was really pretty. It used to cost more for holiday cruises, but lately they have been doing some discounting. Celebrity hasn't been doing as much discounting as they used to. I would really look around and check out all the internet sites. Good Luck!
cruisinmama
hey Dan... with my dh it all depends on how the shifts go.. he has worked every Christmas but this year he starts night shift on the 26th.. Suzila
I haven't been on a Christmas cruise, but friends of mine from work went together one year. I can't remember which cruise they were on, but both of them said the same thing...they missed the holidays at home and wouldn't do it again. They loved being on the ship for Christmas, but hated being away from home and all the traditions. Our family went out to a very fancy restaurant one year for Thanksgiving, and even though it was a special place, we wouldn't do it again on a holiday. (there happened to be a reason- my oven was broken and I'm the chief cook and bottle washer in the family). Put a lot of thought into changing any traditional holiday plans...even though you're talking about a cruise. You'll feel like you've missed the holidays. JoeyandDavid
Ann the 12 nights on the 21st sounds more exciting It gives you both Christmas and New Years Eve. I would imagine that if you wanted to do a holiday cruise it may be a situation, where you may have to book as far as 2 years in advance for optimum cabin selection, Holiday cruises tend to sell out quickly. Of course if you don’t care about which staterooms are available then you may be able to put it off till maybe 8 months to a year out Unfortunately for the same reason as Dan (my DP still has his dad around so we are limited as to when we can do stuffs) Plus working for Amtrak that’s the week that they want “all hands on Deck†Retirement is only 6 years away …..sigh
cruisetarp
I have to agree with Suzila. As much as I love cruising I can't imagine not being home for the holidays. Celebrating them a week early or a week late just won't work for us and as for Thanksgiving I would have to be down in the Galley peeling and cooking the potatoes and turnips as well as the turkey.
