hazelson
Looks like we will be sailing out of Galveston in the spring. Any good suggestions for what not-to-miss while we are there? It will definately not be New Orleans - but we will make the best of it. We will get to NO one day - she may be down but she is definately not out. ttfn Jennifer
sailinglisa
Check out this link! http://www.touringtexas.com/galveston/ Do a google search and you will come up with tons of info on Galveston.........no, it's not New Orleans, but it has it's own unique charm! Plus you will get to see what a place looks like 100 years after being leveled by a hurricane stronger than Katrina - with an estimated 12.000 people dying. The recovery is amazing! DaCruzNut
Galveston, oh Galveston, I still hear your sea winds blowin' I still see her dark eyes glowin' She was 21 when I left Galveston Galveston, oh Galveston, I still hear your sea waves crashing While I watch the cannons flashing I clean my gun and dream of Galveston I still see her standing by the water Standing there lookin' out to sea And is she waiting there for me? On the beach where we used to run Galveston, oh Galveston, I am so afraid of dying Before I dry the tears she's crying Before I watch your sea birds flying in the sun At Galveston, at Galveston
