gogetter
Hello, A little tradition my wife and i have is to go to Port Canaveral and see whatever ship we will be sailing on, off. Because we know when she reutrns we will be boarding. We did this Saturday as we watched the Glory take off. We ate at Rustys, which is right on the water where the ship pulls out from. I had shrimp cocktail and my wife had clam showder soup. We then shared a Grouper dinner. A great meal. I took a few pictures and it is my wallpaper on my cellphone. We rode around the terminal and checked out where to park and such at the terminal. A very nice layout. Easy and manueverable. Had a great time and it made us more excited.................
cruisetarp
Gogetter - Seems like you had a nice day. Since you sound like you might be familiar with the area what would you suggest for us to do during our stop there next year. We arrive at 6AM and do not leave til 7PM. We do not want to go to Disneyworld (well we really do but don't want to be rushed and know that is not possible) but would we be able to go to Cape Canaveral for some time there? How far would it be from the ship to the Cape.? Any other suggestions? Thanks!
JoeyandDavid
Hey Gogetter, What a really great tradition!.. I wish we could do that .. but we rarely cruise out of California :undecided:
gogetter
Hello, Cape Canaveral is a short distance. Jetty park is close, it's a park where you can picnic and swim. The pier is a nice area with eateries and such. Anything more, feel free to ask.

DaCruzNut
Gee, I thought I was the only 'crazie' to do that! I always go to the port, Miami or Everglades, and take a vido of the ship leaving. Then, the following week, when I board the ship. I continue the video. That way, it opens with the ship leaving port...
SKAOLboy
yeah, thanks for the info about port canveral. Atleast now i know when i show up at the docks ( @12 and the boat dosen't depart until 5pm) there is some place to catch a bite to eat, i'll have to check rustys out when i go down there this july. Im also planning on doing the Ageless air boat ride after the trip, it looks SWEET!
