live2ski
Where and how often do you have to show your birth certificate when cruising the Western Caribbean? We don't travel outside the US very often so we decided not to get passports. We do have that proper raised seal birth cert. We also are going to bring copies of them with us, when could you use the copies instead of the original?
JoeyandDavid
Once when you board and maybe once when you debark You should be aware after 12/31/2006 you wont be able to go to anywhere outside of the us without a passport. They are good for many years .. You may want to reconsider the purchase especially if you plan on traveling after that date.
live2ski
Thanks, Do you carry the the cert. into port with you? The only trip we are planning at the moment is this cruise to the Western Carib. in early Dec. Are they going to start requiring a passport to get into Canada as well? That is your ID..just lock all the imortant stuff up in the cabin safe and you set
SKAOLboy
Im from ny, and already Sen. Chuck Shumer (D-NY) is already starting a movement about the passports to canada. Due to our location close to canada it will effect the transport of goods to and from canada, buffalo/niagara area specifically serves the greater Toronto and surrounding citys and industrys. they had some big meets here with transportation officals and are in the works comming up with a bill for the senate, with coperation on both sides of the boarder. im traveling to the bahamas in july and im getting a passport, due to the fact there good even if you suddenly decide to take a trip to europe or another location. There also a GREAT form of ID, and will work even if they have been expired for up to five years. The question is they say they come in 8 weeks, but im sure it's longer then they say.
