TheSkipper
Hi Gang, Looking for suggestions for a one night pre-cruise stay in FTL. Have used a few hotels there on previous cruises, but thought I'd look for something different this time. All suggestions welcome! Thanks,
JoeyandDavid
We enjoy as an everyday hotel The best western brand..Fort lauderdale has two that are easily served by the cruise port. The one at the marina.. last November was in need of a fresh coat of paint, and a new housekeeping department, it wasnt filthy, but it could have been cleaner. The other location is Oceanside, we had planned on that location in February before we altered our plans.. its right on the beach plus, it has access to Las Olas blvd and water taxis. As the power comes back on Skipper I am sure that Jeff will be gald to add his 3 cents ;) When are you heading that way?
Shari2
Hi Ed... When we were there three years ago, we stayed at the Marriott Marina. It's a little pricey, but it's a nice place. They have a poolside bar and grill, and they have a water taxi that can take you to different places that you might want to see or to restaurants that you might want to go to. KeithnRita
We've stayed at the Hyatt Pier 66 the last couple times we cruised from FT Lauderdale. We really liked the place. http://pier66.hyatt.com/hyatt/hotels/
TheSkipper
Hi Gang, Thanks Joey, Shari2 and Kieth for the tips. Best price I could get at Pier 66 was $339. Don't think that's going to happen. There is a Boat Show while we are in FTL and prices are going through the roof. We stayed Sheraton Yankee Trader on the beach last time and it too was a bit pricy. We fly into FTL on Southwest and simply cannot get there before 9 or 10 PM. We crash in our room, have breakfast, repack and head for the ship, so all the resort type stuff in kind of wasted. Going to keep on looking.
