NCL Corp. has named Donald Trump's newest wife as godmother for its newest ship.

The Miami-based cruise line said Melania Trump holds the honor for its $400 million, 93,502-ton Norwegian Jewel. The former model is to christen the ship in a ceremony at the Port of Miami at 6 p.m., Thursday.

Born in Slovenia, Melania Trump received a degree in design and architecture at University of Slovenia. She moved to in New York in 1996 and met Donald Trump while attending a fashion gala.

The two married Jan. 22, in West Palm Beach.

Like many other wealthy socialites, Norwegian Jewel spent the fall of 2005 in New York and is to winter in Miami. After that, the ship is to head to Europe for the summer.
