Suzila
We don't spend enough time in our cabin to watch tv...I usually turn it on while hubby is in the shower, and that's about it for me. If you have an inside cabin, you don't need the sleep mask because it's dark as all get-out in there. So, bring an alarm clock, because you sleep really well in an inside cabin and may miss breakfast or an excursion!
jsme
Doesn't the ship have an alarm clock or wake up calls? Our next cruise is an inside cabin and I have not been in an inside since 92. Does anyone know if RCI has alarm clocks? Heck I guess I should not be too worried because Janet can call my room and wake me up. On the Freedom I am afraid who will be beating on my door and what time that will be. Suzila
I don't know about RCI for alarm clocks, but Carnival did not have one. Not in the room we were in. And the one time we called for a wake up call, it was late, so I just bring our own alarm clock with us. I don't want to take a chance on missing anything. mrsogni
I haven't tried the over the door shoe holder yet but that may be an idea. We bring the MP3 player and docking station so we can have tunes in the room. The cabin stewards usually love Joe because he sets them up with some Bob Marley or Jimmy Cliff to clean the room by each day! We do bring an alarm clock. I don't trust wake up calls although RCI's have been reliable when I used them. I personally love an inside for it's sleep value if we're only doing a 7 day or less. The other thing we always bring is air freshener for the bathroom.
Peddler
I have used the Crazies packing list on both of our cruises....very good. I also add wire ties, pliers (small) and wire cutters (also small). The power strip is a needed item. I useally pack too darn much but I guess my Boy Scout training is coming out ... "Be Prepared". Next time...Less clothes, more money, Travel light and keep it tight. Jim
Shari2
I usually bring too much of everything. The last two cruises were two-week cruises, so I had three formal nights and quite a few informal and then casual, so I brought two formal gowns and one formal blouse and long skirt, lots of mix and match informal outfits and lots of casual. Kept my shoes down to 4 or 5 pair. LOL I usually bring the whole medicine cabinet. LOL I usually bring: ibuprofin, tylenol, bandages, first aid cream, pepto bismol, Immodium, etc. It's a good idea if you wear glasses to bring another pair if you have one, and I always bring a repair kit for glasses. I always bring some antibacterial hand wash, too. I also bring a small bottle of Lysol to clean the bathroom a little extra for us on the first day. Makes me feel better! LOL Brought some Bonine with me, and I had to use it last cruise for the first time in eight cruises. I always use zip lock bags for my make up and small items and undies. I put shampoo and other things in smaller plastic bottles so that it doesn't take up so much space in the luggage. I think I did better on this cruise than on others. I wore most of what I brought. jsme
Sha we normally bring air freshner as well. This year Jeff will have his MP3. I might have to go and buy one too. Doesn't RCI provide Bonine for you in the Media Center? I normally do not have issues with sea sickness but I know they provide some differnt types of meds on our last RCI and they were free. I also tend to bring the whole Medicine Cabinet. I do not want to have to pay preium prices for meds. I also use the Lareg Zip Lock bags we have at work to put many things in. I love those things. I bring post it note pads and a pen to leave notes on the mirror for Jeff, the kids or the room attendant. I try to find some with a ship or somethign fun like that on it. Then I leave it there for my room attendant to have. They normally comment on my post it pads so I let them have it when we leave. I put it with our tip envelope. Suzila
Yes, the purser has something for seasickness if you need it. I think you all bring a lot more than I bring. I bring my prescription medicines, and whatever we use to get ready in the morning..toothpaste, mouthwash, floss, deodorant, Dove soap, shampoo, etc., but that's about it. What do you use the tie wraps and wire cutters for?
