JoeyandDavid
On our upcoming cruise to the PC we are taking friends of ours on their first cruise. One is addicted to soda no problem beverage card bon voyage gift…But the other loves Coffee, Here is my question: Before I get on the phone with Celebrity to suggest an Idea I have I wanted to run it by everyone to gage response. If Celebrity would offer the chance to purchase unlimited specialty non alcoholic coffees and hot chocolate from Cova Café would you purchase? And two what would be a fare price IYHO? Thanks any and all
DaCruzNut
Actually, Celebrity is one of two lines where I don't need to buy coffee....even specialy coffees. They are only 1 of 2 that still brews fresh coffee instead of using the liquid concentrate used by most others (the other is Imperial Majesty, which has 1 ship, the Regal Empress). Joanandjoe
Gee, Jeff, you make me glad I'm a tea drinker. As for Joan, there's no way she'd drink enough specialty coffee to justify a coffee card. She views most flavored coffee as a way to turn a no cal. diet drink into a high sugar snack. Our nickname for a large specialty coffee chain (you know which one): BIGBUCKS! Joe
TheSkipper
I really enjoy a specialty coffee following dinner. The alcoholic kind however. Celebrity used to have them made tableside, flaming the coffees etc., but alas, no more. They just bring them from the bar like everyone else. I guess I woud not be likely to use a card for the Cova. Joanandjoe
Skipper, that's a pity. Flaming drinks are fun, even though the flame boils off the alcohol. Bringing stuff from the bar just isn't the same. However, cruise lines have become very fire conscious, which is why few of them still offer flaming desserts in the dining room. When Joan and I were first married I used to make a liqueur soaked flaming bread pudding, using leftover challah and lots of eggs and raisins. Yum! With a blue flame, it was a thing of beauty! Beat the famous Holland America bread pudding by a country mile.
