:cool: Hi guys: I was astounded to see what RCCL is charging for Eastern Med. cruises. 10 days in Aug. on the Splendour, balcony room for $3849.! Conversely HAL's Noordam has a 10 day Easter Med. offering for

:cool: I just looked. Actually the HAL has 7 port stops vs. 5 for RCCL. Also, oddly the price for the Splendour which was as stated when I looked earlier is now down to around $35.00. Less but still comparatively much :cool: more.

My guess would be supply and demand. RCCL has more glitzy, active ships and apeal to a different demographic that HAL which is more subdued.

I'd go with HAL if it were me.

In case you hadn't noticed, Skipper, Med. prices are done by Crazy Eddie: "Our prices are insane!" We did two weeks on Windstar in the Western Med. in 11/04, and wanted to do 1 week in the Eastern Med. The cost is now more for one week then we spent fopr two weeks. Amazing.

Don't forget to look at the small ships, including Windstar, Sea Dream, and Clipper. They give a very different Med. experience than the huge ships. No nightlife to speak of; but your days are so full in the Med. that you may be too tired for night life anyway.
