Stingray City

Can anyone tell me if you need water shoes to do the stingray city excursion? Just wondered if you can go barefoot or if shoes are needed. I am trying to pack as little as possible, I have flip flops etc.but no water shoes

When we went in December 2005, we HAD to go barefoot. The rubber soles of can hurt the stringrays. The bottom of the ocean is all sand, so going barefoot is no problem.

No shoes needed..........the sand is clean and soft.....

As you've already heard leave the shoes at home. Sandbar is soft as silk. Enjoy your cruise, you will love Stingray City.

It is soft as silk and when you get out of the boat - shuffle your feet in small steps along the bottom - that way you won't surprise any sting rays.
