Joanandjoe
The Barcelona subway system is so easy to use that even Joan and I, who speak about 10 words of Spanish between us, were able to use it. Nonetheless, Joey and David will be tired and jet lagged, so they should take a cab. 200 Euros is pleanty for two days if you use charge cards; but most of the trip will be in Euro territory, so they'll need to use an ATM a few times during the trip. Have a great trip, Joey and David, and don't get "blinded by the light" in the Med. That golden sun will have you wanting to return to the Med. ASAP. jbond
Don't even think of using public transportation from the airport to your hotel, too much hassle, especially after that long flight. We paid 21 euros from the airport to our hotel on La Rambla. You don't have to hassle over prices, all the taxis are metered. You pay extra for luggage. From the hotel to the dock was 19 euros. Don't worry about getting in late. Barcelona doesn't wake up until around 10 PM.
